What will be age limitation?

Age limitation for the PO vacancies will be 26 years as on 01st July 2010.Candidate must have Bachelor degree with 60% from any recognized university or institutions.(Reservation is given to candidates belonging to categories)

Clerical Cadre / Clerks

What will be age limitation?

Age limitation will be Age must be below 24 years as on 01st July 2010. Aspirant must have Bachelor degree with 55% for science from any recognized university or  institutions and 50% for other stream.(Reservation is given for the category candidates).

Statistical Research, Inc. (SRI), a multidisciplinary cultural resources consulting firm, has two temporary full-time, hourly laboratory technician positions available for a records search project in Redlands, California.

 

Prerequisites include a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field and experience working in an archaeological laboratory setting. Candidates need to have good organizational skills, keen attention to detail, a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn and execute new tasks.  Candidates must also be focused, capable of performing repetitive tasks throughout the workday, and able to lift up to 40 lbs.  Those local to Redlands, Riverside, and San Bernardino, California, are encouraged to apply as are individuals with past experience conducting record searches at CHRIS Information Centers. 

 

Compensation is $12.00/hour, and positions are available immediately.

[ShovelBums.Org] Field Technicians-PaleoWest Archaeology (AZ, CO, WY Offices)

 

PaleoWest Archaeology--with offices in Phoenix, Denver, Flagstaff, and Casper--is seeking to fill upcoming positions for Field Technicians for archaeological inventory work at various project locations across Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming.   Per diem is provided for project locations more than 50 miles from PaleoWest offices; some remote projects will be operated out of field camps, while others will include lodging.

Bachelors degrees or better, field school completion, and prior experience are preferred for all positions.   Applicants must be very fit, resilient, and forward-thinking, as field conditions may be difficult and arduous.  Top performers will receive preference for future positions.

SWCA is actively seeking a Principal Investigator for the Cultural Resources Program in our Salt Lake City, Utah office. The ideal candidate will assist the Program Director and other Principal Investigators with project coordination and quality control for cultural resource management projects and expand SWCA's professional reputation in archaeological and historical consulting and research. SWCA also offers participation in our Science Leadership Program in addition to publication bonuses. This is a regular, full-time salaried position and will report to the Cultural Resources Program Director. Salary will be based on individual qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities:
The Cultural Resources Principal Investigator responsibilities include:

• Help develop and maintain the SWCA quality assurance/quality control program and ensure that all fieldwork, analysis, and report production is conducted in accordance with the QA/QC plan;
• Remain current with Agency protocol for conducting cultural resources work, particularly in Utah, Nevada, and Idaho;
• Manage budgets, prepare proposals, reports, and other technical documents, monitor field procedures, and author Research Designs, Treatment Plans, and other technical documents;
• Oversee all aspects of field research, data collection, inventory, analysis, and final report production;
• Establish project procedures and budgetary constraints and assure that projects are concluded within budget and on time;
• Conduct content edits of technical reports and site forms;
• Assist with training and mentoring cultural resources staff in topics including NRHP eligibilities, implementation of research designs, and site recording protocols;
• Take initiative, resolve problems, and create improved procedures to assure tasks are completed in the most effective manner;
• Maintain good working relationships with state and federal agency contacts and clients;
• Work closely with SWCA's other managers and directors, in the Salt Lake Office and in all offices throughout the company, to promote SWCA's business interests in adherence to its mission, vision, and values;
• Promote SWCA in the scientific community through professional presentations, participation in professional conferences, and coordinating the participation of other staff members in professional conferences.

Qualifications:
• Ph.D. in archaeology strongly preferred. Individuals with a completed Ph.D. will be given priority, though ABD individuals or individuals with an M.A. and extensive experience will be considered;
• Past peer review publication record and conference presentation experience preferred;
• Emphasis in Great Basin Archaeology and a current technical specialization (e.g., lithic analysis, GIS, architectural history, etc.);
• At least five (5) years supervisory and fieldwork experience;
• Must be currently permitted by Public Lands Policy Coordination Office (PLPCO) and Utah Bureau of Land Management (BLM), or qualified for both. Ability to be listed on various federal and state cultural resource permits in other states a plus;
• Listed as a Registered Professional Archaeologist (or qualified for RPA status);
• Experience with content edits of reports and a solid background of scheduling and budgeting of projects related to cultural resources;
• Ability to coordinate personnel and other resources within budgetary constraints;
• Exceptional technical writing skills and a record of completing and editing technical reports in a timely fashion;
• Experience with NEPA, and Section 106;
• Ability to work independently as well as oversee small or large projects by working closely with Field Managers and Project Managers;
• Adept at working with a variety of colleagues, clients, and agency representatives;
• A commitment to fiscal and scheduling responsibilities for projects of all sizes and scopes;
• Experience involving PI-level review of projects with historic resources a plus;
• Must demonstrate completion, at a PI level, of a minimum of one (three or more a plus) testing or data recovery excavation projects involving primarily prehistoric archeological investigations and preparation of final reports consistent with the Secretary of the Interior's Standards and Guidelines for Archeology and Historic Preservation. Projects shall have been performed under the jurisdiction of the National Historic Preservation Act.

SWCA is actively seeking to fill one or more Archaeological Field Technician positions within our Cultural Resources Program for our Sheridan office. These are seasonal hourly positions and the candidate will typically work 40 hours per week depending on workload. Overtime may be possible. Pay rate will be based on individual qualifications and experience. Exceptions to the below qualifications may be made for applicants that can demonstrate comparable experience.

Responsibilities of a Field Technician include:
• Working in the field under the supervision of Crew Chiefs and/or Field Directors to conduct archaeological fieldwork;
• Conducting archaeological monitoring, survey, testing, and data recovery;
• Contributing to team efforts during cultural resources field and lab work;
• Taking initiative, resolving problems, and improving procedures to ensure tasks are completed effectively;
• Assisting with mapping responsibilities in the field, including the collection of GPS data using Trimble units (knowledge of ArcPad is a plus).

Qualifications of a Field Technician include:
• Six months field experience with a range of field methodologies, including survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring;
• A Bachelor's Degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field is required;
• An accredited Field School Certification (or equivalent experience);
• Ability to travel and conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather, rugged terrain, and at high altitudes, and ability to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds.

Archaeological TECHNICIAN Position Available IMMEDIATELY IN OUR Lancaster OFFICE

 

Pacific Legacy, Inc., a Cultural Resources Management firm, has an immediate opening in our Lancaster (California) office for a Full-time Archaeological Technician.  This position primarily involves archaeological project support in the Lancaster office, with periodic field survey, excavation, monitoring and lab processing. 

 

Candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Anthropology or related field, and one year of experience in the Great Basin and California. Candidate must reside in the Lancaster area or willing to re-locate to Lancaster.  Salary range between $15.00-$16.50/hour.  Ability to work independently and as part of a team is essential.

 

Job Duties and Qualifications:

 

  • Fieldwork may include survey, monitoring and excavation occasionally;
  • Archaeology project support may include assisting with various forms of paperwork and tracking projects and crew;
  • Cataloging and lab processing experience a plus;
  • Be proficient in Microsoft Word, access and excel;
  • Be detail oriented, multitask and work under pressure;

The most important aspect of this list is that it is for one purpose only.: announcing jobs/non paying volunteer postings in the international CRM field at all levels; Field Tech, Professors, SHPO�s, etc...  Caveat Emptor though my friends.  Not all jobs pay the same, nor is their treatment of employees the same - as the companies are checking your references, you should also check them out - make sure they pay fair wages, treat their employees professionally, and do quality work.  If you have at least a BA you deserve fair remuneration, so ask for it, and in turn you provide your employer with excellent service.   You ARE a trained professional, NOT a "shovelbum"  - the name is in jest - act professional, expect to be treated like one.
