RE: [phono-tx] syllabic spoonerisms

Hi,

I'd work on phonological awareness skills: word and syllable segmentation,
beginning sounds (alliteration activities), final sounds in 1 syllable
words. I'd pair sounds with letters. He may be at risk for dyslexia. I'd be
curious to know if he has rhythm. A few students of mine who had similar
issues were very slow to pick up phonemic awareness skills even though we
began working on them in preschool. Rhyming was always a weakness for those
students. Shifting between rhyming activities and initial sound alliteration
activities can be confusing to these students.
