Title: Field Technician
Location: Las Cruces,NM
Description: Applicants must be able to perform and direct archaeological surveying, testing and excavation. Candidates can anticipate having various duties as described below: - Note taking, map reading, locating and recording sites - Site duties to include collecting pertinent information to completing site forms, drawing sketch maps, collecting data on GPS units, and photography - Testing and excavation duties, to include tracking recovered data and artifacts - Curation duties including washing, bagging, labeling and cataloging artifacts, preparing artifacts and documents for their assigned curation facilities, creating and maintaining artifact databases, and preparing samples to be sent for outside analysis This position is a part-time, temporary opportunity that has the potential to evolve into a full-time career opportunity. Candidates can also anticipate to travel approximately 70% of their time.
Requirements: Successful candidates will have a BA in anthropology, as well as have related experience.
This position requires a valid driver's license and compliance with HDR's vehicle policy.
This position may be subject to a pre-employment drug test and drug and alcohol testing during the course of your employment based upon HDR's Drug Testing and Drug Free Workplace Policy.
