Established in 1998, Landsong Heritage Consulting Ltd. is seeking motivated individuals to conduct archaeology and traditional land use assessments in northeastern, central and interior British Columbia.  Landsong is based out of Moberly Lake, BC located ~120km southwest of the city of Fort St. John, BC.

 

POSITIONS AVAILABLE:

Archaeologist / Project Manager:  This position entails managing archaeology and traditional land use projects.  Responsibilities include: conducting and supervising fieldwork, overseeing the Landsong Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) program during fieldwork, project reporting for submission to clients and regulators and laboratory artifact analysis.  Applicants should possess excellent verbal/written communication skills as well as demonstrate attention to detail and project timeframes.  Qualified applicants must have completed a university degree in archaeology or anthropology (archaeology major) and an archaeology field school program at an accredited university, college or equivalent field experience.  This position is full-time/permanent and includes a comprehensive benefits package.  Pay will reflect the applicant’s experience and education.  Applicants must be willing to relocate.

 

All Landsong workers must comply with WorkSafe BC Standards and the Landsong EHS Program. Certifications & Training for field positions include:


* BC Level I First Aid and Transportation Endorsement
* H2S Alive
* WHMIS
* CSC ATV Safety

* Snowmobile Safety
* Defensive Driving

* Bear Aware


Experience in consulting archaeology in northeastern, central or interior British Columbia or in northern Alberta is an asset, but is not required.  Previous consulting work with aboriginal communities is an asset, as well as orienteering and experience driving 4X4 vehicles and operating ATV's and snowmobiles. All applicants must have a valid driver's license and provide a Driver's Abstract. Applicants must be in excellent physical health as fieldwork is often strenuous.
