RE: [phono-tx] Bibliography on SSD and Intellectual Disability

Agnieszka,

Ann Bosma Smit includes a brief but thought provoking section on speech
assessment and intervention with children with developmental delay (which
she also calls cognitive delay) in her 2004 book *Articulation and Phonology
Resource Guide for School-Age Children and Adults*, pp. 178-181.
Surprisingly, given the book's title, it also includes quite a lot of
information relating to preschoolers.

Barbara Dodd and Sharon Crosbie provide Chapter 13 (pp. 233-243) of Dodd
(2005) - the second edition of Dodd's *Differential Diagnosis and Treatment
of Children with Speech Disorder*.

Chapters 6 and 9 of *Speech and Language Development and Intervention in
Down Syndrome and Fragile X Syndrome* edited by Joanne E. Roberts, Ph.D.,
Robin S. Chapman, Ph.D., and Steven F. Warren are relevant to your search.
This immensely readable book, published by Paul Brookes in 2008, contains a
wealth of useful information. The TOC is below, and a link to the product
page on the publisher's web site.

Best wishes,
Caroline
