Applications are being accepted on-line through October 21, 2010

The Office of Contract Archeology, University of New Mexico is seeking to refresh and expand its pool of qualified Archeology Crew Member and Archeologist (Crew Chief) positions for survey and excavation fieldwork on different projects in New Mexico and portions of adjacent states of Colorado, Arizona, and Texas. Please note that while some immediate openings are available, this posting is intended to place you on the OCA on-call list for future employment as well. Our last opportunity to open the listing was in 2008. Being placed on the OCA on-call list will not affect your current employment elsewhere, it simply allows us to hire you in the future. For anyone who is currently listed for a lower grade, this is an opportunity to apply for a higher grade based on your accumulated experience and education since 2008.

TO APPLY: ALL APPLICATIONS FOR THESE POSITIONS MUST BE SUBMITTED VIA THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO HUMAN RESOURCES WEB SITE. Go to https://unmjobs.unm.edu to apply. Requisition numbers are: 0808290 (Archeology Crew Member); 0808289 (Archeologist).
Posting Dates:
10/07/2010 - 10/21/2010
All applications must be completed by the closing date or they cannot be considered.

The most important aspect of this list is that it is for one purpose only.: announcing jobs/non paying volunteer postings in the international CRM field at all levels; Field Tech, Professors, SHPOs, etc...  Caveat Emptor though my friends.  Not all jobs pay the same, nor is their treatment of employees the same - as the companies are checking your references, you should also check them out - make sure they pay fair wages, treat their employees professionally, and do quality work.  If you have at least a BA you deserve fair remuneration, so ask for it, and in turn you provide your employer with excellent service.   You ARE a trained professional, NOT a "shovelbum"  - the name is in jest - act professional, expect to be treated like one.
