[ShovelBums.Org] Field techs and director needed, Upstate NY job, 5-6 weeks duration, begin 10/25

 

Historical Perspectives, Inc. is looking for Archaeological field technicians, and a field director for survey and excavation work at a proposed wind farm in Upstate New York (Cape Vincent on the St. Lawrence River) for 5-6 weeks, depending on weather. Start date of 10/25. Local archaeologists are preferred, accommodations possible. There may be potential for office work for reports, site forms, maps, data analysis following the fieldwork. Technicians will be paid between $14 - $15/hr depending on experience and Field Director compensation, $22 - $26 to reflect experience. Per Diem during fieldwork.

Basic/Required Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology.

· At least 12 months experience conducting archaeological fieldwork in the Northeast.

· Completed an archaeological field school in excavation techniques.

· GPS experience preferred.
