POSITION OPENING

LABORATORY TECHNICIAN

The Louis Berger Group, Inc., solicits applications for the position of Laboratory Technician in support of our full-service archaeological laboratory located in the Cedar Rapids/Marion, Iowa metro area.  We are looking for dedicated, self motivated individuals wishing to provide quality archaeological services in a cultural resource management context.

Applicants must have a B.A./B.S. in Anthropology/Archaeology and completion of an archaeological field school and/or two months previous field and/or lab experience.  Experience in North American archaeology preferred.  Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 lbs. 

Duties and responsibilities will include the accurate and complete processing of collections, including washing and labeling artifacts, maintaining provenience associations, and assisting with curation preparation, as assigned, with close attention to detail.  Other lab, office, or field related duties may be assigned.  Work will be in a laboratory setting with both indoor and outdoor work areas.  Project and/or task assignments may change quickly and/or frequently.
