[ShovelBums.Org] Principal Investigator

Zia Engineering & Environmental Consultants, LLC is seeking a Principal Investigator for full time employment in the field of archaeology in our Yuma Arizona office.

 

This position is primarily responsible for planning, scheduling, conducting and/or coordinating all phases of cultural resources work in a project or multiple projects with particular emphasis on compliance with Section 106, specific federal agencies and state historic preservation requirements, including meeting the Secretary of Interior's requirements for archaeologists.  Requirements for the position include 10 years cultural resources supervisory experience in New Mexico, West Texas and/or Arizona and a Masters Degree in archaeology, anthropology, or other related field. Desirable skills include:

 

1. The ability to obtain or meet cultural resources permitting requirements in New Mexico, Texas and Arizona,
2.  The ability to communicate with clients' representatives, including purchasing staff, engineers, architects, and designers, applicable regulatory agencies from initiation of projects through to completion.
3. Excellent report writing skills
4. Management and development of several concurrent projects from project budgeting to final report.
5. The ability to find creative solutions to a variety of work related issues.
6. Ability to work with a dynamic group of professionals including biologists, engineers, etc.
7. Familiarity with state and federal cultural resources regulations.
8. The ability to operate a PC, GIS, GPS, total station and/or other technical capabilities.
