Western Cultural Resource Management, Inc. (WCRM) is a cultural resource management firm with offices in Boulder, CO; Farmington, NM; Phoenix, AZ; and Sparks, NV.  We are looking for an editor for our Farmington, New Mexico office.  This staff member will be responsible for editing, formatting, producing professional technical reports, reviewing site forms, other documents, and tables, and performing other duties as assigned.  We prefer an archaeologist who is an editor rather than an editor working with archaeological data, jargon, etc. 

This individual should possess a high degree of archaeological and cultural resource management experience in terms of substance, vocabulary, and Section 106 Compliance.  Excellent writing skills are good; excellent editing skills are better.  A Bachelor’s degree and at least one year of professional writing or editing experience are preferred.  Candidates must possess the ability to pay exceptional attention to detail, both in style and content. 

The ideal candidate will have: 

• Thorough working knowledge of the style guidelines of American Antiquity, Society for Historical Archaeology, and Chicago Manual of Style

• Familiarity with WORD, Excel and Access

• Ability to multitask, problem solve, and work under pressure 

• Ability to attend to details, organization, and time management

• Ability to take direction and work well with people at all levels, and work independently as well. 

• Familiarity with applicable federal and state laws and guidelines

• Familiarity with archaeological, historical, and architectural terms, concepts, and methods preferred

Temporary / permanent position is available – WCRM offers a salary commensurate with experience.  Permanent benefits include paid vacation, health insurance, and a 401k.
