We are seeking a self-motivated, hard-working individual with a bachelor's degree (M.A. preferred) and five years of archeological field experience in coastal Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and/or Florida. The selected candidate will have experience surveying in coastal environments, a proven track record of completing archaeological research, and a demonstrated ability to contribute to high quality reports. Initially, the archaeologist will work on a multidisciplinary team surveying coastal areas, monitoring various undertakings, and completing site evaluations. Follow on work may include directing archaeological crews during Phase I surveys, Phase II NRHP eligibility evaluations, and Phase III data recovery. The candidate needs an excellent understanding of Section 106 and the special requirements of federal and state agencies. Other responsibilities include technical writing, document review, and editing professional cultural resource management reports and site forms. Travel and fieldwork will be required. Bachelors degree in Anthropology (M.A. preferred) as well as related experience.
