Environmental Planning Group (EPG) is seeking Senior Archaeologists and Field Directors for a large testing and data recovery project in southern Oregon. Per diem/working day and single-occupancy rooms, if available, will be provided. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. This is a project-specific position and does not include additional benefits. Candidates must be able to commit to between 1-4 months of work in Oregon. All personnel working on this project must pass a drug test and background check.
Responsibilities include:
•Must possess an M.A./M.S. or Ph.D. in archaeology, anthropology, history, ethnohistory, or closely related field
•Must possess exceptional survey, testing, and excavation experience, including demonstrated supervisory experience (5+ years)
•Be able to direct field crews of between four and ten people in both site testing and data recovery
•Have experience writing and contributing to successful technical reports
•Be familiar with Oregon State and Federal cultural resource laws and regulations
•Able to accurately identify and record artifacts in the field
•Possess familiarity with GPS technology
•Able to work and drive in variable weather conditions
•Complete other tasks as needed and/or directed
•Excellent communication and organizational skills
In addition to these minimum qualifications, the successful candidate will preferably be extremely organized, professional, discrete, responsible, efficient, able to make quick and informed decisions, knowledgeable, confident, and able to deal with project flux and take charge of logistical challenges.
