Position Title: Archaeologist – Principal Investigator

Job Description: We are seeking a Principal Investigator for our Whitesburg, KY office. This person will perform Phase I, II, and III archaeological projects. The successful candidate should have experience with the planning, execution, and reporting of archaeological studies, specifically within the Ohio River Valley and pertaining to Section 106 investigations, within established deadlines.
This person should have a thorough understanding of federal and state laws and regulations for cultural resources and historic preservation. Candidates must meet pre-qualification standards of the Department of the Interior and the Kentucky Heritage Council. Qualifications can be found at http://www.kyheritage.org.
The candidate should have ability to work closely and professionally with clients, supervisors, staff from other environmental disciplines, and junior staff. Good interpersonal skills, writing skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team are essential. Travel will be required. MA Anthropology or Archaeology preferred, plus consulting experience or combination of agency/consulting experience.
