SWCA is actively seeking a Cultural Resources Specialist for our Bismarck office. This is a regular, full-time, hourly position. Pay rate will be based on individual qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities, including, but not limited to:
Performing fieldwork (survey, testing, archaeological monitoring, and data recovery) and/or supervising field crews under the direction of a Project Manager;
Cultural resource report writing, Class I/file searches, site form completion, historic/prehistoric research;
Leadership and supervision, including problem solving, constructive conflict resolution, and decision making;
Effective communication and teamwork across multiple disciplines;
Data QA/QC, organization, and tracking of field data, and collecting GPS data using Trimble units (knowledge of ArcPad is a plus)
Skill Requirements:
A Bachelor's Degree in anthropology or a closely related field is required;
Experience in the northern Plains, Rocky Mountains, or Great Lakes region;
Previous field supervisory experience is a plus;
Ability to be listed on state and federal cultural resource permits is a plus;
Professionalism; teamwork & results oriented; strong initiative and positive attitude; and detail oriented and sound judgment
The ability to travel and conduct fieldwork for long hours, sometimes in inclement weather, rugged terrain, and at high altitudes, and ability to carry equipment and supplies weighing up to 40 pounds. Camping may be required.
