[ShovelBums.Org] Field Supervisor - KEC, Reno

Kautz Environmental Consultants (KEC), an established cultural resource management firm in Reno, Nevada, is accepting applications for Field Supervisor-level archaeologists for the 2011 field season.
This position is for both excavation and Class III pedestrian survey.  KEC expects to begin the field season as soon as the weather permits and continue through the Fall.

Qualified applicants for the position of Field Supervisor should have at least three years of field experience and a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field. Applicants must meet Nevada BLM's criteria for permitting at the level of Field Supervisor (one year of experience in the Great Basin).  Field Supervisors must also have strong written and verbal communication skills and must be able to manage small crews, take detailed field notes, and comport themselves in a professional manner.  All field personnel must be able to walk long distances in extreme temperatures.

Field positions require significant travel from Reno.  Meal allowances and hotel rooms are provided for all projects outside of Reno, Nevada.  These positions are hourly, and field personnel are hired on a project-by-project basis.  Full-time, salaried positions may be available for qualified candidates after a probationary period.  Salary will be commensurate with experience.  All KEC personnel must have MSHA training, and are subject to drug-testing.

The most important aspect of this list is that it is for one purpose only.: announcing jobs/non paying volunteer postings in the international CRM field at all levels; Field Tech, Professors, SHPOs, etc...  Caveat Emptor though my friends.  Not all jobs pay the same, nor is their treatment of employees the same - as the companies are checking your references, you should also check them out - make sure they pay fair wages, treat their employees professionally, and do quality work.  If you have at least a BA you deserve fair remuneration, so ask for it, and in turn you provide your employer with excellent service.   You ARE a trained professional, NOT a "shovelbum"  - the name is in jest - act professional, expect to be treated like one.
