The Position (2011-5775)

We are looking for Junior to Intermediate Archaeologist to join our office in Fort St John, B.C. The candidate will work with members of the Cultural Resource Management Group from across B.C., assisting the design, implementation and execution of projects in the oil & gas, mining and forestry, and land development sectors. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to assist the development of the Archaeology group in the Kamloops Office, as well as to gain valuable and diverse work experience in BC's northern region.

Qualifications and Skills

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

·       An undergraduate degree in Archaeology or Anthropology;

·       Preference will be given to candidates with BC Interior Field Director status;

·       Experience working with First Nations;

·       Must be able and willing to perform field work and study in a variety of weather conditions;

·       Proven oral and written communication, presentation and interpersonal skills;

·       Ability to contribute to a team work environment as well as to work independently;

·       Solid aptitude in MS Office.


The Position (2011-5771)
 
The Victoria, B.C. Office is currently looking for a Junior to Intermediate Archaeologist. At the present time this position is an hourly position. The candidate will work with members of the Cultural Resource Management Group in Victoria and across B.C., assisting with the design, implementation and execution of archaeological projects.
 
Qualifications and Skills

The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

·       An undergraduate or graduate degree in Archaeology or Anthropology or equivalent;

·       A minimum of one year of coastal field experience, preferably in a consulting context;

·       Knowledge of coastal archaeological site types;

·       Experience working with First Nations Community Groups;

·       Physical ability and willingness to perform field work in a variety of locations and in challenging conditions, including extended travel away from Victoria;

·       Strong writing skills;

·       Ability to contribute to a team work environment as well as to work independently;

·       Solid computer skills, including MS Office and Archaeology Branch on-line applications such as RAAD and the Archaeological Report Library;

·       Valid BC Driver's license (Class 5) or equivalency;

·       A commitment to health and safety leadership;

·       Field Director or Permit Holder status in the Coastal Region will be considered an asset but is not requirement.


The Position (2011-5760)
