Archaeologist Guam

 

TEC Inc., an international environmental consulting firm, is seeking an Archaeologist for its Guam office.

 

Summary:

 

Reconstructs record of extinct cultures, especially preliterate cultures: Studies, classifies, and interprets artifacts, architectural features, and types of structures recovered by excavation in order to determine age and cultural identity. Establishes chronological sequence of development of each culture from simpler to more advanced levels.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

 

    * Directing data management for NEPA projects

    * Directing small cultural resource projects

    * Marketing local clients

    * Writing reports and sections of EA's/EIS

    * Organizing fieldwork, maintaining schedule and budget

    * Inventory, processing and curation management of archaeological materials

 

Minimum Qualifications Required:

 

    * MA/MS degree in Archeology or Anthropology

    * Minimum of 5 years experience in the Pacific Region

    * Excellent written, oral and computer skills

    * Ability to exercise professional discretion and judgment.

    * Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

 

Training and Experience:

 

    * Experience in Archeological Survey

    * Experience with report writing, summary of research

    * Experience managing small projects

    * Experience in organizing and inventorying data
