Brockington and Associates, Inc. is seeking a collection and documents rehabilitations manager for work with our Veterans Curation Program in St. Louis, Missouri. Minimum requirements are at least a bachelor's degree in archaeology, anthropology, collections management, archives, or a related field and at least one year's supervisory experience.
The Veterans Curation Program is an employment training program for American military veterans. Training administered to the veterans consists of general computer skills (from mouse-use and typing to Microsoft Excel® and Microsoft Access®), resume writing, job interviewing skills, job search skills, how to work in a professional office environment, use of digital photography and scanning technologies, and collections management skills. The medium for this training is the rehabilitation of archaeological collections owned by the United States Army Corps of Engineers to the procedures and guidelines of 36CFR79: Curation of Federally-Owned and Administered Archaeological Collections.
Work schedule is 40 hours per week. Job responsibilities include supervising and training personnel, up to 10 individuals, in archival and archaeological collections. Strong verbal and written communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills are required. Tasks and direction are repetitive in nature. Responsibilities include working closely with local and federal agencies, community organizations, and local groups.
