[ShovelBums.Org] Field Technicians - Nevada and Wyoming

Cardno ENTRIX is seeking several archaeological technicians within our Cultural Resources Program for our Salt Lake City office starting August 15.  These are project-specific hourly fieldwork positions.  The positions are primarily for construction monitoring in eastern Nevada, but may also include data recovery excavation in central Wyoming.  The monitoring project will typically entail working six 10-hour (or longer) days per week for at least two months.  The data recovery excavation will involve camping on a 10-day on/4-day off work schedule. Pay will be $15-$16/hour depending on experience with paid overtime.  A $35 per diem and single occupancy motel room will be provided for the monitoring project.  A larger per diem will be provided for the excavation project which will require camping.

Desired qualifications include a BS or BA degree in anthropology (with emphasis archeology) with at least two years field experience.  Prior construction monitoring is desirable.  Candidates must be able to conduct strenuous fieldwork for long hours under sometimes difficult weather conditions.  Pre-employment drug testing is required.

If interested, please apply on our website at http://www.entrix.com.  Click on the Careers tab and apply to Position 11-0155 (Field Archaeologist/Salt Lake Office).  Please also send a cover letter and copy of your resume to Craig Smith at craig.smith@cardno.com.

The most important aspect of this list is that it is for one purpose only.: announcing jobs/non paying volunteer postings in the international CRM field at all levels; Field Tech, Professors, SHPO's, etc...  Caveat Emptor though my friends.  Not all jobs pay the same, nor is their treatment of employees the same - as the companies are checking your references, you should also check them out - make sure they pay fair wages, treat their employees professionally, and do quality work.  If you have at least a BA you deserve fair remuneration, so ask for it, and in turn you provide your employer with excellent service.   You ARE a trained professional, NOT a "shovelbum"  - the name is in jest - act professional, expect to be treated like one.
