Heritage North Consulting Limited, located in Fort St. John, BC, Canada, is seeking a Junior Archaeologist for office work with the opportunity for some field work. This candidate will be responsible for researching information on the government site database and within the company files to complete government forms and gather information for our project assessments.

 

Applicant must be able to work in Canada prior to hire. Pay rate based on ability. Is most suitable for a new graduate as experience in industry is not mandatory. Demanding position within the oil and gas industry with opportunity for advancement. Applicant must be flexible, take direction and criticism well, handle deadlines and be willing to learn new skills as requested. Hard work and being a team player is highly expected and rewarded.

 

Skills required for this position include researching of known archaeological sites as well as past projects and how they relate to current ones, government form completion, and ability to work in the field as need.

  


Skills highly desirable in a potential employee include:

-use of GIS software and data base management;

-drafting and drawing skills, knowledge of various oil and gas maps, mapping/plotting
techniques and map reading;

-excellent computer skills;

-the ability to follow and give written or verbal instructions;
-knowledge and implementation of appropriate safety practices;
-good interpersonal and communication skills to deal effectively with the
public, private landowners, clients, regulatory personnel, supervisors and
co-workers;

-common sense, ability to think for oneself, assess a situation and draw
reasonable conclusions based on studying the facts
