TEC Inc, an international consulting company is seeking an Archaeological Crew Chief for our York, Pennsylvania office
TEC is seeking an Archaeological Crew Chief for a 2-month Phase I survey in Virginia. The candidate should have previous supervisory experience, the ability to organize paperwork and artifacts in the field, and the ability to work well with field crew and project directors.
Essential Duties :
Supervise Archaeological Field Technicians in the performance of daily duties
Organize field notes, maps, photographs, and field artifact logs
Use handheld GPS unit, transit and other field equipment
Assist in the completion of daily field activities including shovel testing and excavation
Report to the Field Director and Principal Investigator
Minimum Qualifications Required:
Completion of archaeological field school is preferred
BA degree in Archaeology or Anthropology is preferred
Excellent written, oral and computer skills
Ability to exercise professional discretion and judgment.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Periodic travel required, including international travel
Work in project locations remote from their home office for extended time periods
Prior supervisor experience
Training and Experience:
Supervisory experience
Experience in Archaeological Survey
Experience with report writing, summary of research
Experience managing small projects
Experience in organizing and inventorying data
