We are seeking an Archaeologist to lead field crews and support office efforts in our growing Bismarck, North Dakota office. This is a regular, full-time hourly position with the potential for advancement. We offer an informal, team-oriented work environment, competitive wages, and a competitive benefits package, including an employee stock ownership plan (retirement).
Responsibilities (but not limited to):
- Fieldwork (survey, site recording, testing, monitoring, and data recovery) and/or supervising field crews;
- Leadership (problem solving, decision making, team building, and conflict resolution);
- Professional report and site form preparation, research, and literature reviews;
- Adherence to protocol;
- Data QA/QC, organization, tracking; and
- Field GPS data collection using Trimble units.
Qualifications:
A positive, resourceful, motivated, and detail-oriented individual with the following attributes:
- A Bachelor's Degree in anthropology or a closely related field (at a minimum)
- Experience in the northern Plains, Rocky Mountains, or Great Lakes region
- Previous field supervisory experience
- Ability to be listed on federal and/or state permits
- Effective communication skills
- Ability to travel and conduct fieldwork for long hours (sometimes in inclement weather, rugged terrain, and at high altitudes) and to carry equipment weighing up to 40 pounds
