Beaver Creek Archaeology is seeking an Archaeologist to join our growing consulting firm in Bismarck, ND as part of our cultural resources team. Based in Bismarck, ND, the successful candidate must have a minimum of a M.A. or M.S. degree in Archaeology or closely related field, capable of leading projects in North Dakota, South Dakota, and Montana. The position includes fieldwork, supervisory duties, and writing. Projects will involve inventory, evaluation, and mitigation, which can include conducting archival, background, and technical research; field surveys and excavations; laboratory work; data analysis; and preparation of reports.
Responsibilities:
Perform and supervise archaeological fieldwork and report on results.
Assist with tribal consultation, including escorting tribal representatives to visit project sites
Creatively solve problems to optimize project completion outcome
Work closely with Beaver Creek Archaeology's managers and directors for project work, scheduling, and data exchange.
Requirements:
Master's degree in Archaeology or Anthropology;
Minimum 2 years field experience.
Ability to work in the field 75% of the time. Extensive travel is required.
Excellent communication and computer skills (MS Office)
Ability to work independently and in a team setting
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced consulting environment, handle multiple project assignments, and meet strict deadlines.
Ability to work on several small and large projects simultaneously.
Strong organization skills.
Ability to come up with creative and safe solutions to unexpected situations.
Professional and friendly attitude to both clients and co-workers.
This is a permanent, full-time, salaried position. Salary will be based on individual qualifications and experience. Per-Diem and Hotel is paid away from the office. Health insurance, two weeks paid vacation, and paid holidays are offered after 6 months of continuous employment.
