This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), Mississippi Recovery Office (MSRO), Environmental/Historic Preservation (EHP) Section in Biloxi, MS. The incumbent reports to the Deputy Environmental Liaison Office (DELO) serving as an Archeological Crew Member assisting the Project Manager in conducting archeological survey and testing efforts throughout seven (7) counties in southern Mississippi and all other mission assignments associated with the Environmental/Historic Preservation section of the MSRO. This position starts at a salary of $31,315.00 (GS-5 step 1). Full performance level for this position is at the GS-5 level. This position is being announced under FEMA's CORE Program (Cadre of On-call Response/Recovery employees). These positions are authorized under P.L. 93-288 to perform temporary disaster work and are funded from the Disaster Relief Fund. Appointments are excepted service, temporary appointments. This is a 2 year temporary appointment in the Excepted Service.
