[ShovelBums.Org] Archaeological Field Technicians for Phase I survey around Bloomington, IN

 

Michael Baker Jr., Inc. has openings for up to 6 archaeological Field Technicians for Phase I survey around Bloomington, IN. Preference will be given to qualified individuals who live within a few hours of the project area. This work is expected to begin around early June and could last up to 6 weeks. The pay rate for the position expected to be about $13.25/hour for this temporary assignment; overtime (if it occurs) is compensated at time-and-a-half. Lodging and per diem are provided (as needed) for each day worked. Because of the temporary nature of this position, benefits are not included. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology, Archaeology, or a related field, along with a Field School or commensurate experience. The average 10 hour working day for the Archaeological Field Technician will consist of walkover and the excavation of shovel test probes. Field techs will physically exert themselves by walking and carrying equipment including hand tools, a shovel, and a portable artifact screen.
