Title: Archaeological Field Technicians

Location: Ocotillo, CA

Tierra Environmental Services, a cultural resources consulting firm, has 10 temporary full-time, hourly positions available for archaeological field technicians for an ongoing monitoring project in Ocotillo, California. Qualified candidates should possess, preferably, a bachelor's degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field and have completed an accredited archaeological field school.

Candidates should also have a minimum of 1–2 years of field experience as an archaeological monitor and be physically fit and able to perform physically demanding tasks in adverse environmental conditions (i.e., extreme heat). Candidates should also have good organizational skills, a positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn and execute new tasks. Prior experience working in the Imperial Valley will be viewed favorably, as will demonstrated past field experience working with Trimble global positioning system (GPS) receivers will be given priority.

Applicants should be available to attend a mandatory training tomorrow, 5.2.12 in Imperial, CA

The pay rate or this position is $18 per hour with a bachelor's degree and $15 per hour without. Per diem is offered at a rate of $80.00 per day, which will cover food, lodging and/or mileage.

This position anticipated to last approximately 1 year.
