Field Technicians
Ethnoscience, Inc., in Billings, Montana, has openings for seasonal Field Technicians to conduct archaeological inventory and testing work in Montana and North Dakota. Fieldwork is anticipated to last throughout the summer and likely into the fall.
Applicant must have at minimum a B.A. or B.S. in Archeology/Anthropology and have completed a field school. A working knowledge of Northwest Plains archaeology is preferred, as is field experience in prehistoric stone feature identification. Individuals must be capable of inventorying over rugged/remote terrain for extended periods, and be able to work cooperatively with crew members and supervisors. Ability to use GPS units is also a plus.
Fieldwork is generally performed on a 10-day on, 4-day off schedule. Wage is $14.50/hour plus $33 a day per diem. Lodging is provided during fieldwork sessions. You are generally responsible for lodging during days off; but there may be occasional exceptions on a project-by-project basis.
