CSRM is looking for several Crew Chief level archaeologists for a short term project in Northern Virginia to begin in August or September, 2012. Qualifications are:
· at least B.A. degree in anthropology or a related field;
· at least one year of experience in archaeological fieldwork conducted in Virginia, Maryland, or Washington, DC at a crew chief or higher level;
· excellent technical and grammatical writing skills and reading comprehension;
· excellent skills in compiling and organizing field records including notes and all forms commonly used in archaeological fieldwork;
· Proficiency with MS Office and experience with A Adobe Photoshop and ArcView/ArcGIS or comparable GIS program;
· drafting and drawing skills at a site form mapping level;
· proficiency with a digital camera and the ability to log, organize, and catalogue photos in both digital and hard copy format;
· excellent map reading skills;
· ability to maintain a positive attitude during physical exertion in heat, cold, and possibly extreme conditions; and
· the ability to follow instructions, identify and solve problems, take responsibility, and provide periodic written reports on the fieldwork status and findings.
Salary will be $15.00 to $21.00/hr., depending upon qualifications. Lodging will be provided, as will per diem at a rate to be determined.
