The Position

 

The Kelowna office of Golder Associates Ltd. is looking for an ecologist or biologist to join a growing and diversified team. The candidate will be involved in inventories of wildlife and aquatic species and their habitat in support of environmental impact assessments. The position will also involve conducting environmental monitoring of construction projects, data analysis, report writing and will liaise with clients and regulatory agencies.

 

Qualifications and Skills:

 

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

·       A strong commitment to safe work practices.

  • Minimum Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree preferred) or equivalent in Ecology, Biology, Environmental Sciences or  related field;
  • Two to five years of previous work experience conducting environmental assessments and monitoring, with preference given to experience in an environmental consulting field;
  • Strong people skills and an ability to work in a team environment;
  • Willingness to travel for extended periods of time; and
  • Registration, or the eligibility to register, as a Professional Biologist (R.P. Bio or P.Biol.), or a BIT in British Columbia;
  • Working knowledge of federal, territorial, and local environmental assessment legislation and the environmental assessment process;
  • Previous experience in business development and client relations;
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communications skills.
