RE: [phono-tx] Re: Signing and emergent language

Kerry,

RE: I felt pretty stupid yesterday asking a question that was out of the
realm of the group.

Your question was well within the scope of our discussions, and as you say,
"some of these kiddos may end up being suspected CAS." With regard to
signing, it was included in my post to you about working with under 2s here

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/phonologicaltherapy/message/18835

Aubrey misunderstood the intent of my reminder on Aug 3 to stay on topic as
a request to stay off the topic of language. This is what I wrote to him
after he posted I take account of Caroline's note about our topic here. But
it seems to me that speech should not be absolutely separated from
language."

"Aubrey, My request for on topic discussions was not about speech vs.
language. I was attempting to "speak" tactfully to moderated members, who
have in the past week posted on the topics of ADHD, Autism, (C)APD, voice
disorders, and dysphagia. A great waste of my time. Best wishes, Caroline"

My reminder about our topic was not directed at you. One of the things I do
as moderator is write to people off the list if they post something that is
off topic, and remind them privately. I also post reminders to the whole
group from time to time.

Best wishes,
Caroline
