Subject: crew positions open

FOUR CORNERS RESEARCH is accepting applications from qualified individuals to fill crew positions on various up-coming field projects throughout New Mexico. These are temporary positions but may evolve into fulltime positons with advancement possible. Most positions will receive SCA wages (based on predetermined rates by county). Many of the positions will occur on various Forests, often in remote areas, and camping is required. Typical work sessions are 8 days on and 6 days off. Per diem is paid for out-of-town assignments. Currently, positions will be on the Gila National Forest and Lincoln National Forest.

QUALIFICATIONS: in order to qualify for consideration, each applicant must possess a B.A./B.S. in archaeology, history, or a related field and have accumulated no less than 6 months (1040 hrs) of previous field experience in the Southwest (NM, AZ, TX, CO, UT, NV, and southern California), and receive agency approval to work on the respective Forests. Other projects may require a background security check, completion of a certified Field School or M.A., and substance tests.

Knowledge and previous use of Trimble GIS units (various types), previous experience in Transect Recording Unit procedures, application of data dictionaries, ability to hike in extreme temperatures and rugged terrain, and a positive attitude and congenial personality are advantageous.

To apply, please submit your resume, clearly indicating your past experience in the Southwest and amount of accumulated time represented by your Southwest experience. Submit your application to:

The most important aspect of this list is that it is for one purpose only.: announcing jobs/non paying volunteer postings in the international CRM field at all levels; Field Tech, Professors, SHPOs, etc...  Caveat Emptor though my friends.  Not all jobs pay the same, nor is their treatment of employees the same - as the companies are checking your references, you should also check them out - make sure they pay fair wages, treat their employees professionally, and do quality work.  If you have at least a BA you deserve fair remuneration, so ask for it, and in turn you provide your employer with excellent service.   You ARE a trained professional, NOT a "shovelbum"  - the name is in jest - act professional, expect to be treated like one.
