[phono-tx] speech treatment hierarchy

Hi All,

Hope you can help with this one--for some it may seem like a simple
question. We seem to have a difference of opinion at my office full of
dedicated, passionate and outspoken SLP's--this makes for an interesting
day!! The question is: When you are conducting speech therapy for an
articulation disorder -let's say word level velars--which hierarchy of
positions would you use? Is there research that supports your response?

1. Initial Position, Medial Position, Final Position (IMF)

OR

2. Final Position, Initial Position, Medial Position (FIM)

Thanks in advance for your replies.
