CSRM is looking for a Crew Chief level archaeologist for a project in Central California. Qualifications are:
· at least B.A. degree in anthropology or a related field;
· at least one year of experience in archaeological fieldwork conducted in Central California at a crew chief or higher level;
· excellent technical and grammatical writing skills and reading comprehension,
· experience with and the ability to use Trimble or Thales Mobile Mapper GPS equipment;
· Proficiency with MS Office, Adobe Photoshop Elements and Illustrator, ArcView/ArcGIS and internet, database management programs, various topographic map software and e-mail functions;
· drafting and drawing skills at a site form mapping level;
· proficiency with a digital camera and the ability to log, organize, and catalogue photos in both digital and hard copy format;
· excellent map reading skills;
· ability to maintain a positive attitude during physical exertion in heat, cold, and possibly extreme conditions; and
· the ability to follow instructions, identify and solve problems, take responsibility, and provide periodic written reports on the fieldwork status and findings.
Salary will be $16.00 to $18.80/hr., depending upon qualifications. Lodging will be provided, as will per diem at a rate to be determined.
