Michael Baker Jr., Inc., has openings for 1 or 2 archaeologists to serve as Field Supervisor on Phase I-III cultural resource management projects throughout the eastern United States. The position entails the planning and organization of field investigations, supervision of field crews, data collection, and subsequent report preparation. The posting is for a full-time temporary position with the possibility of transitioning to full-time with benefits. The successful candidate must meet appropriate professional standards as outlined in Archaeology and Historic Preservation: Secretary of the Interior's Standards and Guidelines, Federal Register, Volume 48, No. 190, September 29, 1983, Pt. IV. Qualifications include a Master's Degree in archaeology or cultural resource management. Minimum of 2 years experience in conducting Phase I surveys and Phase II field investigations on both prehistoric and historic archaeological sites. Phase III data recovery experience and artifact analysis skills are preferred. Candidate must have strong writing skills. The candidate must be competent with using MS Word. A proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access, and/or statistical analyses also is preferred.
