POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
The Arkansas Archeological Survey invites applications for three, two-year (with possible extension), full-time positions as Research Station Assistants to begin July 1, 2011. These positions, based in Blytheville, Magnolia, and Little Rock, offer the opportunity to acquire skills and knowledge in all aspects of archeology. Thesis or dissertation opportunities are also available.
Job Description: Duties will include field work, data analysis, collections processing, and interaction with visitors and callers to the Station, all under the direction of the Research Station Archeologist. In-state travel is anticipated.
Qualifications: Applicant should possess a Bachelor's degree in anthropology or a related field and the ability to work independently and meet internal deadlines. Some field experience, experience in working with archeological collections and data, and knowledge of computers are preferred. Attention to details, self-motivation, and flexibility are all essential.
Salary: $22,000 - $24,000 with full benefits.
Starting Date: July 1, 2011
