ARCHAEOLOGICAL LEAD MONITOR POSITION AVAILABLE IMMEDIATELY IN SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
Pacific Legacy, Inc., a Cultural Resources Management firm, has an immediate opening for an experienced Archaeological Lead Monitor for an ongoing multi-year construction project in Southern California. Excellent organizational skills are a must as well as the ability to direct 3-5 monitors in various locations, sometimes on short notice. It is necessary that the candidate live within or close to the Los Angeles area or be willing to relocate to that area.
Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or higher in Anthropology or related field and prior experience monitoring construction sites is a must. Monitoring experience in the Great Basin and California is preferred.
Job Duties and Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is:
- Very detail oriented; ability to work in fast-paced, changing conditions;
- able to work independently and to supervise 3 to 5 monitors in diverse and relatively inaccessible locations;
- able to work well and coordinate with project construction crews and government agency representatives; and
- experienced in identifying human remains
Compensation: Salary determined based on experience.
