Tetra Tech has an immediate opening for a temporary Field Archaeology Technician for a project in western New York and a project in eastern Ohio. Field work is scheduled to begin July 18th and last 2 -3 weeks. Subsequent work maybe available on a project-by-project basis. Local applicants only for the NY project please. Duties will include assisting with all aspects of archaeology field work, collecting and processing data, and preparing various data and documentation reports and planning documents. Field work responsibilities will include periodic extended travel. Starting pay rate for technicians in $12.50/hour and dependent on experience.
Job Requirements:
- Archaeology Field School or 6 months CRM experience
- Strong oral and written communication skills is a must;
- Critical thinking, root cause analysis, problem solving skills required.
This position may require the individual to work near moving mechanical parts and in extreme temperature conditions, both hot and cold; in and/or around moisture; on slippery and/or uneven surfaces, in confined spaces, heights, occasional standing, bending, squatting, climbing, twisting, balancing and reaching. ust be available to work irregular or extended work hours such as nights, weekends and holidays as required.
