SWCA Environmental Consultants is an employee-owned company of environmental professionals who specialize in natural and cultural resource management, environmental planning, and regulatory compliance.
We are seeking Cultural Resources Technician to support our Salt Lake City office with data recovery projects in northern Nevada. These are temporary, hourly positions specific to the projects and will work with other crew members under the supervision of a Cultural Resource Specialist or Project Manager. Pay rate will be based on individual qualifications and experience. Candidates' employment will be contingent upon passing a background screen and drug test prior to hire.
Individuals who have some previous data recovery experience and Great Basin field experience will be considered first.
Project specifics, schedule and travel information:
Data recovery will be conducted on large mines and stringent safety protocols must be maintained. The projects may require remote camping, and SWCA will provide water, communal cooking equipment, showering facilities, and a lab/office tent. However, all other personal camping equipment must be supplied by the employee. Employees must supply their own food while camping, but a generous per diem will be provided. Personal protective equipment will be provided by SWCA.
The schedule will typically consist of a working week of Wednesday to Wednesday with Thursday to Tuesday days off; other schedules may be required at times.
Travel time to the project area from the Salt Lake City, Utah SWCA office will be compensated on the first and last day of each field session. Travel from your current location to Salt Lake City will not be covered.
Headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona, SWCA has offices throughout the West, Pacific Northwest, and the Pacific Islands. Since its founding in 1981, SWCA has achieved a national reputation for providing its clients with professional integrity as well as creative solutions based on sound science. The most important aspect of this list is that it is for one purpose only.: announcing jobs/non paying volunteer postings in the international CRM field at all levels; Field Tech, Professors, SHPO's, etc... Caveat Emptor though my friends. Not all jobs pay the same, nor is their treatment of employees the same - as the companies are checking your references, you should also check them out - make sure they pay fair wages, treat their employees professionally, and do quality work. If you have at least a BA you deserve fair remuneration, so ask for it, and in turn you provide your employer with excellent service. You ARE a trained professional, NOT a "shovelbum" - the name is in jest - act professional, expect to be treated like one.
