A National Geographic Channel series is seeking an archaeologist or grad student in archaeology to fill a newly-created position on our film crew; position commences in late May and would run through mid-September (approximate range). This would be a travel-heavy job; we'd probably be away for 5 to 6 stretches of 2 to 3 weeks each (beginning in mid-June), with maybe a week off in between each stretch. This is a paid position, between $1,000-$1,200 per week, and would be a contract for a certain number of weeks, so no benefits are included. However, travel, food and lodging in the field are all covered.
Ideally you live in the Washington, D.C. / Baltimore, MD area, as this is the crew's home base. However, we are willing to bring on a person from farther away if they're the right fit. An excellent sense of humor is required, and I say that in all seriousness, as we are all in close quarters and spend much of our time joking around. Stamina and a good physical work ethic are also needed, as we work long days and have a lot of gear to deal with. Close attention to detail and strong organizational skills are a must.
Duties would include but are not limited to :
--cataloguing excavated artifacts (GPS coordinates, depth, field photos, etc.)
--finding/casting archaeologists and/or historians (local to each location) who would appear on camera, to assess artifacts found at the end of each episode and to put the finds within a larger site specific and historical context
--dealing with any archaeological paperwork, such as permits, letters of intent, artifact catalogues, etc.
Interested parties should respond via email with their CV and any other relevant information.
Thank you.

The most important aspect of this list is that it is for one purpose only.: announcing jobs/non paying volunteer postings in the international CRM field at all levels; Field Tech, Professors, SHPO's, etc... Caveat Emptor though my friends. Not all jobs pay the same, nor is their treatment of employees the same - as the companies are checking your references, you should also check them out - make sure they pay fair wages, treat their employees professionally, and do quality work. If you have at least a BA you deserve fair remuneration, so ask for it, and in turn you provide your employer with excellent service. You ARE a trained professional, NOT a "shovelbum" - the name is in jest - act professional, expect to be treated like one.
