Job Description: Archaeological Technician
Sphere 3 Environmental, Inc. seeks to hire temporary Archaeological
Technicians for summer fieldwork (May through August) involving cultural resources investigations in the Texas panhandle (near Pampa, Texas). This position will consist of excavating shovel tests and completing field data forms in remote areas. Fieldwork will be conducted 40-hours a week (Monday through Friday) at $13.25 per hour. Technicians will be responsible for transportation to/from the project area. Field transportation and lodging will be provided near the project area. Meals will be reimbursed up to $30.00 per day.
Qualifications:
This position requires experience in Oklahoma or Texas, field school training or one year of field experience, anthropology coursework, and a Bachelor's degree in archaeology, anthropology or closely related field. Applicants must have the ability to perform physical tasks in extreme temperatures including heavy lifting (50lbs or more), walking, bending, and digging. Additional responsibilities will include field mapping utilizing a global positioning system. A mandatory pre-employment drug screen test will be given and must be passed as a condition of employment in addition to random drug screening throughout the duration of employment. This position will require an appointment for an interview in our office in Longview, TX.
