ICF is currently seeking an Archaeologist to be based in our Sacramento, CA office.

Job Description:
This individual will assist senior archaeologists in fieldwork, laboratory analysis, project management, and preparation of technical reports and environmental documents.

Key Responsibilities:
Artifact analyses, keeping of field notes and records, supervising field crews, and writing key sections of reports.
Survey, testing, evaluation, data recovery, and construction monitoring, as well as other tasks as assigned.
This position involves travel to project sites throughout Northern California.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:
M.A. in anthropology or closely related field (emphasis in archaeology) with a specialization in prehistoric or historical archaeology.

4+ years of field experience, particularly in archaeological survey and reconnaissance, and preferably in a supervisory capacity.

Must have recent experience on projects in California.

Knowledge of computers and GPS equipment is critical, as is the ability to travel and conduct fieldwork.

Firm understanding of Section 106, and CEQA and NEPA as they pertain to cultural resources.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Qualifications necessary for listing on the Register of Professional Archaeologists are preferred.

Professional Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
