Southeastern Archaeological Research, Inc. (SEARCH) is immediately hiring 5 Archaeological Technicians to work in southwestern Texas (Jim Wells and McCullen Counties) on a Phase I survey. The project is scheduled from December 6 to December 17. These are single project, temporary positions; however, high-caliber applicants may be invited to accept permanent positions.
Applicants should have:
--MA (preferred) or BA in Anthropology or related field
--Completion of an archaeology field school
--Training in Texas archaeology
--Additional skill sets in related disciplines (land survey, Trimble GPS operation, heavy equipment operation, GIS, CAD, photography, cartography, etc.)
--Five years field experience
--Proven history of ensuring a safe working environment for themselves and others
-- Strong field and outdoors skill set; ability to work in physically demanding environments
--Ability to work well in a team environment
Local or Texas-based candidates are encouraged to apply. Experience in cultural resource management and experience working on DoD projects is preferred.

Applicants should be United States citizens and able to receive government security clearances. Pay will be commensurate with the SCA rates for the project areas ($16.47 to $18.17 plus temporary employees also receive the fringe benefit rate of $3.50 per hour for the first 40 hours per week.) Per Diem is $35.00. Hotel and transportation between the hotel and the project will be provided. The hotel will (likely) be in Alice, Texas.
