Southwest Supervisory Archaeologist

Logan Simpson Design Inc., a growing environmental planning and design firm, with unique and exciting projects, currently seek a full-time Archaeologist to be based in either our Tucson office or in our corporate office located in Tempe Arizona.

Duties and responsibilities will include supervising cultural resources surveys, testing projects, and excavations throughout the southwest.

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in identifying prehistoric ceramics and lithics, historic artifacts, and documenting archaeological features commonly found throughout the southwest.  Individuals must also be familiar with the completion of survey and excavation forms, operating GPS units with a data recorder, and have knowledge of local and federal cultural resources guidelines. The candidate must also be capable of supervising a survey in remote locations and over steep terrain, have a clean driving record, and be able to work out-of-town when necessary.  Ability to obtain permits to survey in adjacent states is a plus.

Requirements include:
* MA in Anthropology.
* 5-10 years of supervisory experience with a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience in the Southwest.
* Ability to demonstrate written and verbal communication skills, and possess substantial experience independently preparing complex technical documents for cultural resources projects.
