Requirements
The individual must interact with people at all levels and must have strong communication skills. Strong computer skills, detail-oriented, self-starter, problem solver, leadership, organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills are essential. Willingness to assist with interdisciplinary duties that may be needed to deliver quality services on schedule.
· A Masters degree in anthropology or archaeology is required.
· A minimum of 2-5 years of field work, with at least one year of supervisory experience is required.
· Northern Plains field archaeology experience is highly desired.
· Experience with writing and producing professional quality reports is expected.
· Experience with GPS.
· Commitment to flexible assignments and work schedule.
· Work is scheduled on a weekly basis; however, this may change depending upon client and project needs.
Description
The Archaeologist II functions as a Field Director and Senior Crew Chief and must be fully Secretary of the Interior qualified. Responsibilities in the field include coordinating field work with multiple Principal Investigators, leading field crews, training crew chiefs. Additional responsibilities include providing communication with the company Principal Investigators, assisting with scheduling crews in a dynamic and fast-paced work environment, ability to stick to the project schedule and budget, writing and producing reports detailing the results of the fieldwork, and assisting with making recommendations to federal agencies and clients regarding the status of cultural resources identified during fieldwork. Travel is an essential aspect of this position, with the expectation of extended time in the field during the field season.
