Statistical Research, Inc. (SRI), a multidisciplinary cultural resources consulting firm, has an immediate opening for an archaeological monitor for a week-long project near Victorville, California.  Qualified candidates should possess, at minimum, a bachelor’s degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or a related field and have completed an accredited archaeological field school.  Candidates must also have a minimum of 1 – 2 years of archaeological monitoring experience and be physically fit and able to work in adverse environmental conditions (i.e., extreme heat).  Candidates should also have good organizational skills, the ability to take clear and detailed notes, and be able to identify both prehistoric and historical-period cultural resources.  Prior archaeological monitoring experience in San Bernardino County will be viewed favorably, as will demonstrated past field experience working with Trimble XT global positioning system (GPS) receivers.

 

Pay is commensurate with experience, and daily food allowance and lodging are not being offered.
